INSTALLATION GUIDE
Lithora by Raphael sintered stone slabs should be fabricated and installed following professional countertop practices. Below is an overview of the key requirements — download the full manual for complete design rules, diagrams, and specifications.
Design & fabrication — All internal cut-out corners must have a minimum radius of 3/16" (3/8" for commercial kitchens); square corners create stress points. Keep at least 2" between cut-outs and between any cut-out and an edge. For L-shaped tops, split into two pieces where possible, or use a 3/8" minimum radius. Lightly sand cut edges with 60/120-grit diamond pads to prevent chipping.
Support & substrate — The support base must be flat, level and structurally solid. Bond the slab with adhesive across the entire support area — never isolated silicone dots — and reinforce the areas around sink and cooktop cut-outs. Use support bars for undermount or flush installations and keep overhangs conservative.
Handling — Always move and transport slabs in an upright (vertical) position with any cut-outs facing upward, fully supported to avoid bending, and protected from impacts and standing water.
On-site processing — Cut and drill only with continuous water cooling, working from the finished surface toward the raw surface, with the slab fully supported on a rigid, flat base. Always use appropriate PPE.
Care — Clean with warm water and a pH-neutral detergent using a soft microfiber cloth or non-abrasive sponge, and wipe spills promptly. Avoid waxes, oil-based soaps, abrasive pads, and any product containing hydrochloric acid.
